CVPPPL resumes work on Pakal Dul project as DC gives permission

JAMMU, Apr 25: Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt Limited (CVPPPL) today resumed work on 1000 Mega Watts Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project as Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has finally given permission in the light of the instructions issued by the Union Power Ministry.
EXCELSIOR in its edition dated April 24 had exclusively reported that administration of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has yet not taken decision on allowing resumption of work on the power projects despite explicit instructions from the Union Ministry of Power and Ministry of Home Affairs.
“We have resumed work on Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project as Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has given permission for the same”, M S Babu, Managing Director of the Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt Limited said.
The foundation stone of the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project in Kishtwar district was laid by the Prime Minister on May 19, 2018.
As per the instructions of the Ministry of Power, the work on the power projects will be carried out while taking all mandatory precautions and norms of social distancing as well as the advisories issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time with regard to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
