CWA concerned over paucity of life saving equipments in hospitals

JAMMU, Oct 31: Consumer Welfare Association (CWA) has expressed concerned over paucity of life saving equipments in the city hospitals and asked the concerned Minister to take immediate steps in this regards for the convenience of the patients.
In a statement, BM Kohli, member, CWA said that the dengue is at rise in Jammu province and paucity of “Blood Component Separator Machine” (BCSM) reflects the failure of the Government to provide best medicare facilities to the dengue suffering patients.
Due to non-availability of life saving medicines and equipment in city hospital, people are moving outside state for the treatment of their dear ones.
He said that the fogging by the Department of Health in connivance with Jammu Municipal Corporation is also confined to special areas and colonies. Suburban and slums are not on priority list of the Health Department, he added.
The members revealed that the Dialysis machine for diabetic patients is also not in its best working condition in SMGS Hospital.
They added that in Children Hospitals, ventilators are not available and the funds allotted by the Central Government and WHO are either misused or diverted.
