CWA delegation calls on Additional Commissioner

Jammu, Feb 17: Team of Consumer Welfare Association (CWA) called on Additional Commissioner Jammu in his office chambers and apprised him of various consumer related issues ,particularly unprecedented price rise of day to day consumable items such as milk and milk products,fruits, vegetables, medicines, eggs, mutton, chicken etc.which is adversely affecting the pockets of common of not only Jammu city but Jammu Division as a whole.
His attention was also turned to the unilateral increase in fees being hiked by public schools; non implementation of Government instructions for prescribing generic medicines instead of brand names thereof; high and irrational, non- uniform charges for different pathological tests being charged by different laboratories.
The Additional Commissioner appreciated the work being done by the CWA and assured that as per earlier practice a committee of officers of various concerned Departments, and members of consumer associations will be constituted to hold regular meetings to redress consumer related issues.
CWA team comprised of Er. S. K. Gupta, President, Chander Parkash Dharmatma , Vice President, Rajinder Kakkar, secretary, D.P. Khajuria, Director Agriculture (Rtd) and Vijay Kumar Ojha .
