JAMMU, Jan 28: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, the CWC Waqf Development Committee Chairperson, today addressed the National Orientation Programme for the staff deployed in State Waqf Boards for implementation of ‘Qaumi Waqf Board Taraqqiyati Scheme’ of the Central Waqf Council of Ministry of Minority Affairs.
Formerly this scheme was known as Scheme of Computerization of records and strengthening of State Waqf Boards. Jammu & Kashmir was today formally inducted into the preview of the new scheme by the Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi after Dr Darakhshan Andrabi presented her detailed report about the J&K Waqf Affairs in her address.
Minister of Minority Affairs addressed the staff representatives of all State & UT Waqf Boards of India and discussed the steps being taken on war footings to strengthen the Regional Waqf Boards and ensure transparency of accounts, assets and implementation of schemes.
In her address Dr Andrabi directed all States & UT Waqf representatives to complete the record digitization within 2021 so that all records are displayed for public audit by the year end. Darakhshan said she was happy that atlast J&K Waqf Boards have come under Central Waqf Board preview.
Dr Andrabi said that she would take up the issue of immediate implementation of digitization of all Waqf records in J&K with the LG administration soon. She discussed the components of the new Waqf Development Scheme with the national level representatives. The orientation Camp was coordinated by the CWC Secretary, S S Naqvi who also addressed the National programme and presented the roadmap of the implementation in different areas and zones. He deliberated on the benefits of Geo-tagging of the Waqf properties.
