CWC team inspects educational institutions in Kargil

JAMMU, Aug 25: A Central Waqf Council (CWC) team of Union Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) today visited Kargil and inspected many educational institutions and coaching centres in and around the town which get grants from the Ministry under different schemes.
The CWC team comprised Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Haneef Ali, Munawari Begum and CWC Secretary Shadab Zeb Khan and it also visited Ladakh University and inspected implementation of many projects of MoMA.
The team reviewed scholarship facility of the Ministry for local students.
Later Dr Darakhshan Andrabi told reporters that after the abrogation of Article 370 and grant of Union Territory status to Ladakh, the region has seen enormous development and progress.
“PM’s vision of a prosperous Ladakh is taking shape. I talked to the civil society members and intellectuals of Kargil and they are convinced that the new administration is taking long term visionary steps to boost the economy. The Lieutenant Governor has made the administration accountable,” said Dr Andrabi.
She expressed satisfaction over proper implementation of Central schemes of Minority Affairs Ministry in Kargil and said that a large number of students from this hilly district are availing the scholarship schemes of MoMA.
Dr Andrabi also met many public delegations in Kargil and listened their suggestions and proposals for making the programmes of the Union Ministry more effective.
