JAMMU, July 9: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have recovered Rs 6 lakh in an online fraud case.
A police official said that the case involved denying returns to a woman who had invested her hard-earned money in a committee managed by a group.
After making several futile attempts to get her money back, the police official said that the complainant lodged a formal complaint with Cyber Cell Jammu.
The unit, known for its prompt and professional action, quickly swung into action and using advanced investigation techniques, got the money recovered from the defaulter, he said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police official.
