Cyber Cell Jammu solves online frauds worth Rs 4.8 lakh

JAMMU, Sept 13: The Cyber Cell of DPO Jammu resolved three online fraud cases amounting to Rs 4,80,900.
A Cyber Cell official said that in one case, a victim lost Rs 1,70,000 after being deceived by a fraudster posing as a family member who asked for financial help.
Another case involved a fraudster pretending to be an Amazon parcel delivery agent, duping the victim of Rs 2,14,000, he said.
In the third incident, the Cyber Cell official said, a complainant lost Rs 96,900 after investing in a fake AI server platform.
With the swift intervention and professional expertise of the Cyber Cell, the teams launched timely investigations and managed to freeze the entire amount, preventing it from being misused, he said.
