Cyber Cell Kathua recovers online defrauded amount

KATHUA; Aug 27: District Cyber Cell, Kathua under overall supervision of SSP Kathua has demonstrated its commitment to combat cyber crime by recovering online defrauded amount of Rs 75,500/.
Brief facts of the case are that on 24/05/2024, an offline complaint was lodged in Cyber Cell, Kathua in which a complainant namely Sham Lal Bamotra, son of Sain Dass of Lakhanpur Kathua reported that an amount of Rs 75,500 was fraudulently debited from his bank account through Google Pay.
During the investigation, the Cyber Cell Kathua team acted swiftly and exhibited hectic efforts which ultimately put hold on said amount and eventually refunded back this amount of Rs. 75,500 to the complainant while further investigation is underway.
This achievement of district police, Kathua underscores the unit’s expertise dedication and tireless efforts in safeguarding the common citizens against online fraud and cheating.
