Cyber Cell recovers Rs 80,000

JAMMU, June 7: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu District today recovered Rs 80000 from an online fraudster.
A police spokesperson said that the Cyber Cell DPO Jammu received a complaint from one person who claimed that she was tricked by an online fraudster to believe that her son was caught in a rape case and for his release she needs to pay an amount of Rs 80000.
After the complainant deposited the cash in the account of the fraudster, she realised the fraud, and approached the Cyber Cell, she said.
On the complaint of the victim, Cyber Cell acted swiftly and led to the recovery of Rs 80000 from the fraudster, he further said.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
