JAMMU, June 24: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have solved two online financial frauds.
A Cyber Cell official said that in one of the two financial frauds, the complainant invested Rs 1.50 lakh via telegram to lose the amount to the fraudsters.
In another case, he said, the victim received a call to join a WhatsApp group promising rewards for completing tasks, reviewing places on Google Map etc and lost an amount of Rs 50000.
During the investigation in both the cases, the Cyber Cell of DPO Jammu acted swiftly and put on hold an amount of Rs 1.70 lakh out of total Rs 2 lakh the victims lost to the fraudsters, said the Cyber Cell official.
Further investigation in both the cases is underway, he added.
