Cyber Crime unit solves fraud case

LEH, Feb 18: Cyber Crime Unit has solved the Cyber fraud and recovered an amount of Rs 132,301 within two days.
According to police Cyber Crime Unit Leh received a complaint from one Prasad P son of Peethambaram of Kerala, presently posted and working in 753-BRTF-GREEF Station Thiksay, Leh Ladakh, wherein he stated that, some unknown person/fraudster had fraudulently transferred an amount of Rs 132301 from his SBI Account through Yono SBI app (Mobile Banking).
As the complainant was getting some technical issues while using Yono SBI App, he contacted customer care number of Yono SBI which he found on Google search that turned out to be a fake contact number. Following the instructions given by the fake customer care executive, the complainant was asked to enter key words KYC quick customer support on Google play store and installed “Team viewer, Quick support” application (a desktop/ mobile screen sharing app) which the fraudulent used to hack his mobile and realized the transaction of Rs 132301 from his SBI account without the knowledge of the complainant.
