JAMMU, Apr 4: Police in Jammu District claimed today they have solved an online financial fraud.
A police spokesperson said that Cyber Cell of District Police Jammu received a complaint regarding a financial fraud of Rs 94,500.
During investigation, he said the Cyber Cell of DPO Jammu acted swiftly and put on hold an amount of Rs 86,922 out of total Rs 94,500 being transferred to the fraudster.
In a statement, SSP Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar has appealed the general public to remain extra vigilant from cyber fraudsters. He has further requested people to report cyber frauds on National Helpline number 1930 or Cyber Cell DPO Jammu helpline number 8899537995.
The victims in cyber crimes can also lodge their grievances online at www.cybercrime. gov.in and www.ceir.gov.in for their lost mobile phones etc., said the SSP.
