POONCH, Nov 20: Army today flagged off a cycle rally to commemorate the 64th anniversary of Poonch Link Up Day.
The rally was flagged off by war veteran of 1947-48, Naik (Retd) Bachan Singh of 11 J&K Miliyia (11 JAK LI) from Raina Auditorium here to spread the message of peace and harmony for continued development of the region.
The cycle rally was led by Major General KH Singh, YSM, General Officer Commanding Ace of Spade Division, who rode the bicycle along with the team followed by Brigadier MK Mago, SM Commander, Poonch Brigade and Colonel KJ Singh, Commanding Officer, Durga Battalion.
During the rally, a 15-member team from 17JAK LI under the aegis of Poonch Brigade will traverse a distance of about 90 kilometre through Rajouri-BG-Surankote-Poonch.
