LOS ANGELES, Aug 30: Miley Cyrus does not care about the backlash her recent MTV VMA performance received and she “couldn’t have been happier”, the singer’s manager Larry Rudolph claimed.
Rudolph said despite the singer’s risque appearance and antics, Cyrus and her camp are proud of her daring duet with Robin Thicke, reported Us magazine.
“We were all cheering from the side of the stage. It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will,” said Rudolph.
The 20-year-old pop songstress stripped down to flesh-colored latex underwear during the second half of her performance, during which she rubbed up against Thicke, 36, and gestured around the stage with a giant foam finger.
Celebrities and fans alike reacted with shock over Cyrus’s behavior, but the fun-loving singer didn’t bother about it and continued performing.
“It’s the VMAs, what did you guys expect? I like Miley. I like her a lot. I think, you know, she’s young. She’s letting everyone know that she’s growing up. I just think it’s the VMAs. It’s not like she did it at the Grammys,” said Justin Timberlake in Cyrus’ support.
Cyrus’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, also chimed in to voice his support for his daughter’s edgy performance.
“Of course I’ll always be here for Miley. Can’t wait to see her when she gets home. She’s still my little girl and I’m still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change.” (PTI)
