JAMMU, Apr 4: A delegation of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) here today called on eminent Dogri writer Padmashri N.D Jamwal at his residence in Kot Bhalwal and apprised him of their long pending demand of Satellite Duggar Channel.
The delegation was led by DADAA vice president, Madan Rangila and it demanded Satellite Duggar Channel.
Members of the delegation handed over to Jamwal the copies of correspondence done by DADAA since 2013 in this regard with Union Ministries of Home Affairs, Defence, Culture, Information and Broadcasting and Prasar Bharati.
Janak Khajuria, a delegation member said that DADAA is demanding Satellite Duggar Channel to promote, protect and develop the rich cultural heritage, art and languages spoken in Duggar land and sought the support of N.D Jamwal, who said that Satellite Duggar Channel is need of the hour to promote Dogri language, culture and heritage worldwide.
He also said that every language which is in 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution has own Satellite Channel but the Dogri language is still awaiting that.
“Every person in Duggar land should raise voice for this cause to save identity of Dogras,” N.D Jamwal maintained.
Shiv Mehta was also present in the delegation which handed over a support letter for the demand to Jamwal.
