JAMMU, June 19: Continuing with their struggle to get Satellite Duggar Channel in Jammu region, Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) organised signature campaign in Vijaypur here today.
The campaign was organised under the chairmanship of its President, J.S. Babli.
On the occasion, office bearers for the Samba district were also nominated.
Raman Singh Slathia was elected as president of District Samba, C.S. Katal as Vice President, Sugreeb Singh Sambyal as General Secretary, Usha Salathia as Cashier, Ajit Sharma Khajuria, Janak Bhardwaj and Pawanesh Singh Salathia were elected as the executive members of the association.
The new team shall educate the masses of District Samba regarding the importance of Satellite Duggar Channel and convince them to support the noble cause.
Later, a Signature campaign was launched near BDO Office in Vijaypur in which large numbers of people from all walk put their signatures in support of Satellite Duggar Channel and also appreciated the efforts of DADAA for organizing the Signature campaign for the demand of Satellite Duggar Channel.
A large number of artists including actors, producers, directors, writers, singers, musicians, cameramen, spot boys, choreographers and prominent citizens under the banner of DADAA participated in the protest rally demanding Satellite Duggar Channel for the protection and development of rich cultural heritage, art and languages of Duggar land in general and for the welfare of artists in particular.
They said that Satellite Duggar Channel will cover the area of Jammu region of 32,200 sq. km.
“Languages other than Dogri which are spoken in Jammu province and its adjoining areas as well as in Pakistan and PoJK are Gojri, Bhaderwahi, Kishtwari, Pahari, Mirpuri, Poonchi and Mujafrabadi,” they maintained.
J S Babli said that DADAA has also a proposal to organise such type rallies and signature campaigns in all Districts of Jammu region to seek the support of general public of Jammu region for the demand of Satellite Duggar Channel.
