Daily Wagers’ ultimation to Govt

SRINAGAR, June 20: The daily wagers of the Power Development Department (PDD) and Power Development Corporation (PDC) today urged the State Government to regularize their services by July 2 failing which they would intensify their agitation.
Addressing the protesting PDD and PDC daily wagers, Rafiq Ahmad Khanyari, General Secretary, Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-R) said that the State Government is delaying the process of their regularization. He warned that the State Government would be responsible for the consequences if their demands are not met within the stipulated time frame.
Earlier, the PDD and PDC daily wagers carried out a protest demonstration in support of their demands. The protesters led by EJAC-R President, Ram Kumar Sharma raised slogans in favour of their demands and urged the State Government to set the ball rolling vis-à-vis regularization of daily wagers in PDD and PDC.
The protesters tried to march through the main Lal Chowk area, but were stopped by the police.
