JAMMU, June 30: Today, on eve of Doctor’s Day, Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) paid rich tributes to the doctors across the globe, who lost their lives while fighting Coronavirus pandemic.
The association also wished for speedy recovery of those doctors who are affected with Corona and are presently admitted at various isolation centres.
While encouraging the hard working medical fraternity during this crisis like situation due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, DAJ president Dr Balvinder Singh said that this is testing times for medical fraternity, particularly doctors who are at fore front in dealing with pandemic. Dr Singh said being away from their families, doctors are risking their lives to save life of others, which is really praiseworthy.
The DAJ president said that at least for one day, instead of discussing and sharing the number of cases, we can shift the focus to the number of recoveries instead as it will boost the morale of doctors.
He said July 1 is celebrated as Doctors Day across globe and there’s no better time than now to take a minute to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of all the doctors of UT of J&K as many doctors had to isolate from their families because they spend all day long in the company of patients suffering from Coronavirus.
On the occasion, general secretary of the Association Dr Manjeet Singh urged the health authorities to consider the long pending demands of medicos put forth from time to time to boost the morale of medicos.
