JAMMU, Mar 29: To combat the alarming resurgence of Coronavirus in the union territory of J&K, Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) has decided once again to facilitate patients with tele-consultation services so that the number of people visiting health facilities can be contained, thus lowering the chances of virus spread.
In a press statement issued today, Dr Balvinder Singh, president DAJ revealed that from tomorrow onwards tele-consultation (giving medical advice on phone) facility will be made available for all the patients having minor ailments and there is no need to visit hospitals and other health institutions unless it is utmost necessary. He said the patients can go on facebook page of DAJ and see the contact numbers of the doctors available for tele-consultation.
Earlier, Doctors Association Jammu took a detailed preview of resurgence of Coronavirus and appealed the general masses to strictly observe all the precautionary measures like hand sanitization, mask wearing and social distancing to prevent the rapid surge of second wave of pandemic. The statement said that despite vaccination the SOPs issued by the Government for Coronavirus are of much importance as virus can struck even after the inoculation.
Dr Balvinder appealed general masses to cooperate with health and civil administration in curbing the spread of virus by observing precautionary measures. He mentioned that more than 2 lakh people got benefitted from tele-consultation in the previous year.
He said that Health Department under guidance of Financial Commissioner Atal Dulloo and Director Health Dr Renu is doing its best to fight spread of coronavirus in J&K but people’s cooperation is must for containing the contagion.
General secretary of DAJ Dr Manjeet Singh appealed the people to avoid crowding the hospitals for minor ailments. He assured general public about regular availability of medical services throughout UT during coming days but asked people to restrain from visiting health facilities as the spike in cases is alarming and it needs precautions to stop the virus from spiraling.
