DAK expels few members, adds more

SRINAGAR, Feb 1:  Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today held a general body meeting at Srinagar under the chairmanship of its president Dr Nisar ul Hassan to induct new members into the body and expel those who were involved in activities against the body.
DAK spokesperson Dr Riyaz Ahmad Dagga said representatives of GMC, SKIMS, JVC and peripheral health also attended the meeting.
Dr Nisar while addressing the meeting said that the general body has unanimously decided to expel three tainted executive members for their involvement in anti-organizational activities.
Dr Nisar said that these expelled members hatched a conspiracy to dissolve DAK in connivance with some higher ups in Health Department who are involved in spurious drug scam which is unacceptable.
“We are committed to health related issues but have an obligation to raise voice against public grievances. DAK is a sacred house with a mission and we have life to defend it,” Dr Nisar said.
Dr Riyaz Ahmad Daga who was nominated as spokesperson said that doctors will come on roads if DAK president is not reinstated immediately. The process of elections will be started after the unjustified and illegal suspension of Dr Nisar is revoked.
Dr Suhail (GMC), Dr Aijaz (Handwara), Dr Iqbal (Kupwara), Dr Javid (Srinagar) and Dr Manzor (Srinagar) were nominated as General Secretary, vice presidents, treasures respectively.
Other executive members inducted are Dr Aftab (GMC), Dr Adil (GMC), Dr Sartaj (GMC), Dr Farooq (SKIMS), Dr Fayaz (SKIMS), Dr Waseem (JVC), Dr Parvez (Bandipora), Dr Amjad(Baramulla), Dr Saif-ul-Yamin (Pulwama), Dr Irshad (Budgam), Dr Khurshid (Anantnag) and Dr Bilal (Kupwara).
