‘Dana’ among two arrested with country made revolvers, live cartridges

JAMMU, Nov 20: Two notorious criminals including Raghubir Singh alias ‘Dana’ have been arrested along with country made revolvers and 6 live cartridges.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka near Shastri Nagar Chowk and intercepted a Wagon-R car bearing registration number PB35W-8288.
During checking, police recovered two country made revolvers along with 6 live cartridges and arrested two persons traveling in the car.
The arrested persons have been identified as Raghubir Singh alias Dana, son of Parshotam Singh of Chorli Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu and Harmeet Singh alias Shanu alias Mama, son of Rajinder Singh of Reshamgarh Colony Jammu, at present Digiana District Jammu.
With the arrest of these two notorious criminals, Gandhi Nagar police foiled a gang war as the arrested accused are notorious criminals and a number of cases of attempt to murder, stabbing and keeping illegal arms stands registered against them in different police stations of district Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that Raghubir Singh alias Dana is involved in about dozen cases and is also an absconder of Bari Brahmana, Bishnah, Samba and Vijaypur Police Stations.
A case under FIR Number 261/18 under section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against them at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by SI Sandeep Chauhan and SI Rohit Bhagat made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
