RAJOURI, Jan 5: A delegation of leaders of Democratic Azad Party (DAP) consisting R.S Chib, general secretary; Jugal Kishore Sharma, provincial president; Ashok Sharma, provincial vice president; Sobat Ali, JMC Councillor and Anoop Sharma visited village Dhangri here to take stock of the situation, under which, six persons were martyred and many injured in terrorist attack.
The delegation expressed condolence and shared their grief with the bereaved family and also conveyed condolences on behalf of G.N Azad, chairman DAP.
Local DAP leaders Zahid Malik, zonal president; Sushil Sharma, district president and Lovely Gupta also accompanied the delegation.
Chib told reporters about non-availability of weapons with VDC, late arrival of Police at the place of incident and no effort made by Police to cordon off the complete area.
He said that blast in which two children lost their lives could be avoided if police would have taken suitable steps after the killing of four persons the previous night.
The delegation demanded strengthening of VDCs with modern weapons, enhancement of compensation for victim families and judicial probe in which two children lost their lives in the blast on second day of the attack. The delegation also demanded that Bal Krishan should be awarded for using his weapon at right time making militants flee.
The delegation along with the locals organized a tribute paying function at Rajouri Bus Stand in the night by lighting candles.
DAP leaders also attended 4th day rituals of Chaudhary Zaffar Ullah Azad at village Mankote (Mendhar) and conveyed their condolences on his demise to his son Ch. Imran Zaffar, DDC Member.
