JAMMU, Oct 13: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, chairperson Waqf Development Committee of Union Ministry of Minority Affairs chaired review meeting of the Committee at CWC headquarters, New Delhi today.
During meeting, implementation of Waqf Programmes and Schemes of entire country was reviewed and new proposals regarding grant to educational institutions and scholarships were discussed and approved. Review was also done of the process of Digitisation of Waqf records in different states and Union Territories of India.
Dr Andrabi said that minority welfare schemes are transforming lives of the minority youth throughout the country. “Without hue and cry of minority appeasement, Modi Government is empowering minorities for the first time in the history of democratic India through its very effective programmes & schemes. Muslim youth are now excelling in education sector and the welfare schemes have changed the lives of the deprived class of minorities throughout the country,” Chairperson of WDC said.
Dr Andrabi appealed all regional Waqf Boards to ensure the completion of hundred percent digitization of records by the year end as decided earlier. Secretary of Central Waqf Council, Shadan Zab Khan said that during the past seven years CWC has transformed a lot and now transparency in the working of CWC has enhanced its working.
