POONCH, May 5: The people of Darana village in Sub Division Mendhar today held a protest against PHE Department.
The protesting people locked the pumping station of the area and staged demonstration. Raising slogans against the PHE Department, they said that water supply in the area is suspended for last about five months. They said for months they are making rounds of the PHE office but get only assurances as the water supply has not been restored till date.
Later, the villagers in the form of a delegation met SDM Mendhar, Mohd Tanveer Ahmed Khan and submitted him a memorandum, demanding immediate restoration of water supply in the area. They said that if water supply was not restored soon, they will be forced to resort to violent protest.
