JAMMU, July 14: On third day of the IIM Jammu Orientation Program for the different batches, interactive and thought-provoking sessions were held on Thursday.
The third day program commenced with an insightful session by Dr Nitin Upadhyay, Chairperson (MBA), on academic rigor, pedagogy, and expectations from students, wherein he explained the program objectives and the course structure of the MBA program of IIM Jammu.
Dr Harsha Jariwala enlightened first batch of MBA (HA &HM) about the unique pedagogy of this course in which they will learn management at IIM Jammu, Healthcare administration at AIIMS Jammu, and technology at IIT Jammu. The student of Ph D interacted with Dr Vaseem Akram, who emphasized on the commitment to educate and producing scholars.
Another insightful session was followed by Industry speaker Subir Hazra, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer, GMR Services, GMR Group. Subir Hazra spoke about the famous business concept of BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear, Incomprehensible) and VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity).
Batton was then handed over to the industry speaker, Kishore Indukuri, Founder & CEO of Sid’s Farm Private Limited. He shared his inspiring entrepreneurship journey and focused on providing customer value.
Then, a session on the Health System in Jammu and Kashmir was delivered by Dr Harbaksh Singh, Chief Medical Officer J&K who enlightened the students with his wisdom and encouraged the students for building successful corporate careers.
After this, Shailesh Lohiya, Librarian, IIM Jammu provided an overview of the overall functioning of the library. He mentioned that the library acts as a learning resource center for the faculty, staff, and students at the Institute and acts as a nodal center for Harvard business school and Ivey cases.
This was followed by the address of Cmdr Kesavan Baskkaran (R), Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Jammu. He made the students familiar with the administrative policies and about the safe practices followed by the Institute.CA Rajat Jain, Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, IIM Jammu also interacted with the students. Dr Rambalak Yadav, Chairperson (International Relations), IIM Jammu apprised the students about the tie-ups with reputed Institutions across the globe.
This was followed by a session on teaching through case studies by Dr Baljeet Singh, Assistant Professor, IIM Jammu and another session by Industry Speaker Pramod Sadarjoshi, Managing Partner, Cornerstone International Group.
