JAMMU, Sept 29: Division Bench of the State High Court comprising First Puisne Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice B S Walia today allowed the application filed by the State to perform Dussehra Festival in the Parade Ground with effect from October 4 to October 11.
While allowing the application, Division Bench observed, “it is stated that the function of Dussehra is an event which is being organized at this place for the last more than 10 decades and with which the citizens of Jammu have been associated as such there is no reason to make a deviation this year from past practice”.
With these observations, DB allowed use of Parade Ground for Dusshera Festival. It is pertinent to mention here that DB by virtue of order dated November 11, 2014 had directed that in case this playground is to be used for any purpose other than one pertaining to sports, prior permission from this court was required to be obtained.
