JAMMU, Sept 12: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Civil Society Tral regarding road widening, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rashid Ali Dar has directed Executive Engineer, PHE Department, Awantipora to forthwith examine the matter and ensure that the water pipes which are coming in the way of completion of the road from Tral to Satoora are forthwith shifted.
When the PIL came up for hearing, Mohammad Yousuf, Executive Engineer, R&B informed the court that the construction of the road from Tral to Satoora is underway and PHE Department is required to shift certain water pipes. “If they do the work, the road shall be completed within one month thereafter”, he added.
