DB directives in PIL regarding security of court

JAMMU, June 9: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking security of court complex and former Chief Justices/Judges of the High Court and former Advocate Generals of the State,  Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar today issued some directions.
After hearing both the sides, DB observed, “Senior Additional Advocate General Wasim Sadiq Nargal has submitted that against the orders dated 14.03.2016 and 17.02.2017 whereby direction was given to provide security to the former Chief Justices/Judges of the High Court and former Advocate Generals of the State, the Law Department has granted sanction to file SLP before the Supreme Court”.
“We direct the respondents to positively comply with the directions issued on 14.03.2016 and 17.02.2017, subject to outcome of the SLP”, the DB said and further directed that the Commissioner Secretary to Government, Finance Department, Commiss-ioner Secretary to Government, Home Department and Secretary to Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs shall hold a joint meeting and take an effective decision with regard to the implementation of the directions issued by this court vide order dated 08.06.2017″.
Division Bench also directed Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Jammu, to ensure that a team of four additional traffic constables shall be deployed to ensure that the vehicles of the Advocates and Litigants as well as general public who visit the premises of both the courts, namely, High Court and District Courts, are parked only in the parking space and not anywhere else.
