JAMMU, Mar 10: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocate Shivan Mahajan against child abuse, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed the Chief Secretary to file reply before next date of hearing.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi for the PIL whereas Senior AAG Seema Shekhar for the State, DB observed, “for deciding the controversy raised in this writ petition, Registrar General of this court and Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority are impleaded as party respondents”. The DB, accordingly, permitted the counsel for the petitioner to serve papers to the Registrar General as well as Member Secretary State Legal Services Authority.
Division Bench further directed Chief Secretary to file reply before the next date of hearing, failing which he shall appear in person. The Registry was directed to list this PIL on March 17.
