DB directs JDA to file utilization plan of retrieved land

JAMMU, Mar 18: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) titled Ankur Sharma challenging the Jammu and Kashmir State Lands (Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act and also seeking CBI probe, Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and First Puisne Judge Justice Rajesh Bindal today directed JDA to file utilization plan of the retrieved land.
The DB further directed that the directions issued vide order dated February 20, 2020 have to be complied by the Secretary, Revenue Department, Commis-sioner/ Secretary, Department of Information and Deputy Commissioner, Jammu.
The DB had directed the authorities to effect a calculation of the value of the public land which has been vested in the encroachers and division of the land in terms of its classification as urban, rural, forest land or of any other nature.
DB vide order dated February 20, 2020 had directed Secretary, Board of School Education, Jammu, Secretary, Revenue Department, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Principal, Chief Conservator of Forests to submit reports and explain how the ETT institution has been permitted on forest land and how the forest land has been registered in the name of private persons.
