DB directs Rlys to follow guidelines

JAMMU, Aug 31: In a PIL seeking directions to the Railways for making announcements in Dogri language, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice BS Walia today issued directions to the Railways for compliance of the policies/guidelines in this regard.
After hearing Advocate BR Manhas in person whereas CGSC PS Chandel for the Union of India, the DB disposed of the PIL by directing respondents to follow their own policies/guidelines issued vide No. 87/M/(C)/202/10 Volume-II dated 09 August, 2007 insofar as, use of Dogri language in Dogri script on the destination board/ belly boards  of the trains originating from and terminating at Jammu Tawi  Railway Station, Udhampur Railway Station, Kata Vaishnodevi Railway Station and all other stations located in Jammu division of the State.
The steps for implementing the same shall be taken within six weeks, the DB directed.
