JAMMU, Dec 14: In much publicized suo-moto PIL on a news item regarding closure of Govt school for the purpose of parking, a Division Bench of State High Court, comprising Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Sanjeev Kumar today directed counsel for the State to file a copy of the Policy whereby the rationalization process of the schools numbering 3000 in the State has been indicated.
After hearing Adv Virender Bhat for the PIL and AAG Ravinder Gupta for the State, the DB directed that the data should also be provided as to which of the schools are proposed to be closed down and for what reason. Furthermore, the information shall also include the number of private schools operating in the region where a Government school is proposed to be closed down and the said information be provided within three weeks, the DB directed.
Division Bench also directed State to file reply regarding an application seeking schooling of children of VVIPs in Government School in light of the order of Allahabad High Court made in Writ Application.
