JAMMU, Feb 18: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Ranbir Singh Manhas regarding functioning of old Sub Divisional Hospital Bhaderwah, Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing Adv RS Kotwal appearing for the PIL whereas Deputy AG Neeru Goswami appearing for the State directed Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah to ensure that emergency services even after 4 pm remain available to the citizens at old SDH Bhaderwah.
When this PIL taken-up for hearing Deputy AG Neeru Goswami has shown a copy of the letter sent by the Block Medical Officer, Bhaderwah stating that as per the instructions received from the District Development Commissioner Bhaderwah, the old SDH has been made functional from 10 am to 4 pm is an interim arrangement. One Medical Officer (MD) Medicine, Pharmacist, Staff Nurse/ FMPHW, Sweeper, Nursing orderly are performing their duties at old SDH, Bhaderwah. Interim arrangement obviously has been made during pendency of the petition. However, Division Bench feel that emergency services around the clock should also be made available so that the patients may not suffer on account of closure of the hospital by 4 pm and directed Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah is to ensure that emergency services even after 4 pm remain available to the citizens at old SDH Bhaderwah.
