JAMMU, Oct 27: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharma has expressed displeasure over delay in making Eye-Bank functional at Government Medical College Jammu.
When the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking establishment of Eye-Bank came up for hearing, Division Bench expressed displeasure over inordinate delay and observed, “the affidavit filed by the Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department is quite cryptic in regard to the steps taken to make the Eye-Bank functional”.
“Nothing has been stated as to what action the officer has decided to take with a view to procure the requisite machines so that the Eye-Bank becomes functional”, the DB further observed and directed the respondents to file an affidavit within a period of two weeks.
