JAMMU, June 7: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocate Shivan Mahajan against child abuse, Division Bench of State High comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharma has expressed dissatisfaction over the affidavit filed by the Government.
“The status report has been filed in terms of order dated February 2, 2019 wherein a stand is taken that an Act has been promulgated vide SRO 133 dated February 26, 2019 and the process has been initiated for creation of a separate department for women and children”, the DB observed.
“The affidavit dated March 1, 2019 does not give the details as regards what steps have actually been taken to the achieve that purpose”, the DB further observed and directed for filing better affidavit.
