JAMMU, Feb 11: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi has granted two weeks time to the State Government to take decision on continuation of Baseer Ahmed Khan as Deputy Commissioner Srinagar in the light of his involvement in the Gulmarg land scam and a complaint against him written to the Chief Justice.
When the PIL and complaint which was treated as CMA came up for hearing, Advocate S S Ahmed appearing for the petitioner submitted that no reply has been filed by the State. However, Senior AAG Gagan Basotra sought two weeks time on the ground that situation in Kashmir valley was not conducive for considering the question concerning continuation of Baseer Ahmed Khan as Deputy Commissioner Srinagar at this juncture.
Considering the request of the Senior AAG, the Division Bench granted two weeks time to the State and directed the Registry to list the PIL on March 4, 2013.
