JAMMU, July 17: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Viklang Chattra Trust regarding better care of old age home, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal has granted four weeks time to the State for filing status report.
In the earlier order, Division Bench had directed respondents that they shall without any further delay take over land at Bhalwal and start construction of the Composite Home.
In the meantime, land at village Seri Khrud and Panjgrain, Nagrota shall not be put to any use or allowed to be encroached upon till a decision is taken regarding proposal initiated by Social Welfare Department for earmarking the land for Beggars’ Home and such decision be taken within four weeks.
DB had also directed that process for identifying the Beggars’ Home at Srinagar and steps to expedite construction of Composite Home at Patalbagh, Pampore be also expedited.
After hearing Advocate Ankesh Chandel appearing for the PIL, the DB has granted four weeks more time to State for filing status report as per the earlier order.
