PIL on accidents in hilly areas

JAMMU, Feb 2: Division Bench of High Court of J&K and Ladakh comprising Acting Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi has granted time to the Government for filing compliance of the order dated December 20, 2022.
When the PIL titled Intakhab Ahmed Qazi Versus State of J&K and Others came up for hearing, Advocate General D C Raina assisted by Additional Advocate General Ravinder Gupta submitted that he may be given some time to enable him to file compliance of order.
Accordingly, the DB granted time and in the facts and circumstances of the case the Divisional Commissioner Jammu was arrayed as party respondent. Moreover, the DB directed that the Divisional Commissioner should act as the Nodal Officer in the instant matter, who in coordination with other respondents, shall collect all the relevant information and based on such information, file an affidavit on behalf of all the respondents.
“We feel it appropriate to direct that in PIL matters the Government should appoint one Senior Additional Advocate General/Advocate General to assist the court so that proceedings are conducted smoothly”, read the order.
