DB imposes cost on BOPEE

JAMMU, Nov 25: In the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a social activist Ashok Sharma challenging Rule 17 of Reservations Rules, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today imposed cost on Board of Professional Entrance Examination.
After hearing Advocate Kuldeep Singh Parihar for the PIL whereas Advocate Anil Sethi for the BOPEE, DB observed, “despite various opportunities granted, an affidavit in terms of order dated 27.10.2014 has not been filed”.
“On the last date of hearing, excuse was put forward that on account of floods, supplementary affidavit could not be filed. However, similar excuse has been put forward today”, the DB said and directed that affidavit be filed tomorrow and same shall be subject to payment of Rs 2500 as costs.
