DB notice on Parade Ground complex

JAMMU, Nov 2: In an application filed by Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation seeking permission to construct three tier car parking facility and shops in Parade Ground, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice BS Walia today issued notice to the petitioners in the main PIL with the direction to file objections before next date of hearing.
In the application, the Municipal Commissioner has submitted that the upper ground floor of the proposed shopping area will be retained as play filed with the better facilities for the sport lovers and with ultra modern joggers track, obstruction free sitting stands and poly carbonate sheet roof.
“The Corporation has planned a complex consisting of 3 tier under-ground car parking facility for 861 vehicles and the lower ground floor will be used for shopping aracade area similar to the Palika Bazar comprising 58 shops”, the Commissioner further said.
After hearing Senior AAG SS Nanda appearing for the State, DB issued notice to the petitioners of PIL and directed them to file objections before next date of hearing.
