JAMMU, May 20: Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul has directed the Advocate General to file a comprehensive report keeping in view the suggestions and grievances projected by the lawyers.
In the Court on its Own Motion relating to COVID-19 pandemic, several grievances and suggestions have been made by the lawyers. The main grievances and suggestions have been raised by Aditya Gupta, Rohit Kapoor, Sachin Dogra, Pranav Kohli, Ashok Sharma, Mubeen Khan and Zeeshan Hyder.
After hearing them as well as Monika Kohli, Amicus Curiae and D C Raina, Advocate General, the DB observed, “after considering the various aspects of the matter, we don’t deem it proper to narrate all those grievances and suggestions and instead direct all the lawyers to submit the same through Amicus Curiae to the Advocate General, who will respond to each and every grievance and suggestion within two weeks and if necessary may take up those matters with the Government and try to resolve them as early as possible”.
“Advocate General is further directed to respond to various applications which are pending in this petition and on which response was earlier directed to be submitted”, the DB said and directed the Registry to provide copies of all the applications received to the office of Advocate General and to Amicus Curiae so that response may be filed positively.
“The Advocate General may also file a comprehensive report as to the action/steps so far taken by the Government in release to the pandemic”, the DB said.
