JAMMU, Dec 3: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan today sought Government response to the Public Interest Litigation seeking establishment of Board for Machail Mata Yatra.
When the PIL filed by Sarv Shakti Sewak Sanstha along with application for appointment of receiver came up for hearing, Advocate Rohit Kapoor appearing for the petitioner made a statement mentioning that Sanstha has no objection if the yatra is administered on the lines of Shri Amar Nath Ji and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi yatras.
“Constitution of a Board besides providing better management will also scuttle attempts that are being made by vested interests working behind the scene to grab temple properties worth crores of rupees, particularly in Bhaderwah, Attholi, Jammu and Nagrota (Dami)”, the counsel for the PIL said, adding “Governor has already been approached in this regard by the office bearers of the Society”.
Upon this, Advocate General D C Raina appeared and the court directed official respondent to file response in one week.
