JAMMU, Oct 2: DBN Amarvilla collaborated with Medanta Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Gurugram, to organise a guest lecture on World Health Day here today.
Dr Gulam Nabi, the Consultant Intervention Cardiologist, who was invited as a guest lecturer from Medanta, sensitised the DBN Amarvilla students aware about the importance of the day, highlighting the theme for the year 2023, which is “Use Heart Know Heart.”
He discussed in detail about the importance of a healthy heart besides lifestyle changes that are required to maintain a healthy heart.
In his address, Dr Gulam touched upon the dietary pattern, importance of being active, management of body weight, controlling the blood pressure and cholesterol level. He also asked the students to maintain their stress level by indulging in fun activities.
The school children also asked various questions related to their health issues. A special medical camp was also organised for the students and the teachers of DBN Amarvilla, where they discussed in detail about their cardiovascular diseases with Dr Gulam Nabi.
A drawing competition was also organised on this day to make the children paint out their thoughts related to a healthy heart and a healthy lifestyle.
Sandeep Singh Jamwal, Assistant Manager, Medanta, Gurugram, coordinated the guest lecture with the Medanta Hospital which is focussing on such a sensitive theme as India is facing high rate of cardiovascular diseases.
Principal of the school, Ranju Malhotra, in her thanking note, appealed the audience to make a meaningful difference in their lifestyle not only on the World Health Day but routinely to live a healthy life.
