JAMMU, Jan 4: A delegation of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, led by its President Ved Parkash Sharma, met Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo and demanded to come out with executive order for performing all official and administrative work in Hindi.
Senior BJP leader and member of DBPS Chander Mohan Sharma said that in Delhi and Chandigarh, long established as Union Territories, the official work is performed in Hindi. All administrative and official meetings and issuance of further orders in J&K should be in Hindi language, he added.
Advocate P C Sharma, another senior member of the Sabha, said that now Dogri/Hindi can also be used as medium language in the official documents work in UT. He said these languages can be easily understood by every citizen of the UT.
DBPS President Ved Parkash Sharma said that inclusion of Dogri/Hindi etc in the list of official languages is not only a fulfillment of long pending demand, but also in keeping with the spirit of equality. He came out with suggestion to increase the circle of Sanskrit language and to double the efforts to popularize the same.
Other members of the delegation included Subash Shastri, Soujanya Sharma, M L Padha and Barita Ram Sharma.
