DBPS pays rich tribute to Major Som Nath Sharma

JAMMU, Nov 3: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) here today paid rich tribute to the martyr Major Som Nath Sharma who laid down his life defending Srinagar Airport from the attack of Pakistan army backed intruders on November 3, 1947.
Sabha president, Ved Parkash Sharma paid floral tribute to Major Som Nath and recalled sacrifices of this great soldier.
He said that after the martyrdom of Major Sharma, many people from his family joined Indian Army thereby setting an example.
On this occasion, Tawi Andolan president and senior BJP leader, Chander Mohan Sharma said that present situation in J&K demands inspiration from the supreme sacrifices of our brave soldiers.
He demanded naming of any of the airports in J&K after Major Som Nath.
Describing Major Sharma as great hero of India, BS Jamwal, Lalit Sharma, DBPS chairman, PC Sharma, Soujanya Sharma, NMC president, Subash Shastri and others said that real tribute to Major Som Nath will be to take pledge to keep our-self prepared for challenges which threaten the unity and integrity of our country.
