JAMMU, Aug 30: In the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Welfare Association of Shareholders of Sheen Finance and Investment (India), Sheen Agro Plantation Ltd and Sheen Road Links Limited, Division Bench of State High Court comprising First Puisine Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice B S Walia today directed Director General of Police to designate an appropriate officer to proceed with the investigation into the alleged multi-crore scam and submit action taken report on next date of hearing.
After hearing Advocate O P Thakur appearing for the petitioners whereas AAG WS Nargal for the State, the DB observed, “in terms of the earlier order a report has been filed by the SSP Jammu indicating the steps taken and the difficulty in proceeding with the investigation”, adding “the SSP Jammu and IO are unable to proceed in the matter as the SSP Crime Branch is also investigating the issue parallel”.
Accordingly, Division Bench directed DGP to look into the issue and designate an appropriate officer to proceed with the investigation and submit action taken report on next date of hearing.
