DB’s directive in PIL on Ambphalla-Janipur road widening

JAMMU, Dec 10: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Citizens Forum through its President RK Chadha seeking fly-over from Shakuntla to Janipur and widening of the Amphalla-Janipur and Janipur-High Court roads, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan today granted four weeks time for filing status report as per earlier order.
In the earlier order, Division Bench had observed, “a proposal in this regard appears to have been submitted by the PWD to the Planning Department vide communication dated 21.12.2017 and only money has to be released by the Planning and Finance Departments, after the requisite approval so that by the time process of tendering is finalized, the process of shifting of PDD utilities can also be undertaken with a view to avoid any further delay in the matter”.
After hearing Advocate Aditya Sharma for the PIL whereas Advocate General DC Raina with Senior AAG CM Koul, the DB directed that the needful be done within a period of three weeks and a compliance report be also submitted by the Principal Secretary, Planning Department and the Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Finance Department by the next date of hearing.
