JAMMU, July 8: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar has granted four weeks time to the State for filing affidavit indicating the status of implementation of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013.
The direction was passed in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocate Rajeshwari Katoch.
“This court on April 17, 2017 as well as on May 15, 2017 had granted time to Deputy Advocate General Vishal Bharti for filing an affidavit indicating whether the Act has been implemented and to what extent”, the DB said, adding “the Deputy AG now prays for grant of two weeks time so as to enable him to file affidavit”.
While granting four weeks time, the DB said, “in case of further non-compliance this court will be constrained to issue bailable warrants against the Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare”.
