ANANTNAG, July 30: In alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sahakar-se-Samriddhi’ and to enhance the availability of affordable generic medicines to rural populations, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, S.F. Hamid today inaugurated the fifth Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra (PMBJAK) under the Cooperative Sector at PHC Srigufwara, here.
During the inauguration, the DC emphasized the significance of PMBJAKs for providing effective and affordable medicines. He urged the public to utilize these centers to benefit from their cost-effective healthcare solutions.
The DC also praised the Cooperative Department for achieving its target of five PMBJAKs in the district.
The Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Anantnag reported that the Ministry of Cooperation has set a target of establishing five PMBJAKs per district. Anantnag is the first district in the Union Territory to achieve this goal, with four of the centers located within district health facilities, ensuring round-the-clock healthcare services.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in improving healthcare accessibility in Anantnag.
The event was attended by the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Anantnag, as well as officers, officials from the Cooperative Department, hospital administration, and a large public gathering.
