POONCH, Feb 9: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav has cancelled the illegal mutations of nearly 560 kanals of forest land in Uchhad and Kas Bladi villages of Mankote tehsil in Mendhar Sub Division and directed the Tehsildar to correct the entries in the Revenue record.
Official sources said that action was taken by the District Collector (DC) Poonch, Yadav on the recommendations of Divisional Forest Officer, Poonch, Mohan Choudhary. He pointed out that some Revenue officials have made illegal entries in the Revenue record of the land belonging to Forest Department for providing benefit to the land grabbers/ locals of the area for their vested interests.
It was pointed out by the DFO in his report that vide mutations No. 155, 155/1, 155/2, 156/1, 157, and 158, the concerned Naib Tehsildar/ Tehsildar/ Revenue officials have made illegal entries in the Revenue record of nearly 250 kanal of Forest land at village Uchhad in Mankote Tehsil. He said the land under question as mentioned in the record, is ‘Ghair Mumkan Jaar’.
Similarly, 14 illegal mutations of nearly 310 kanals of Forest land were surfaced at village Kasblari in Mankote Tehsil of Mendhar. All these mutations vide numbers- 440, 221, 293, 297/1, 310, 315, 325, 328, 191, 220, 221 and 223 were cancelled by the District Collector. Concerned Tehsildar was directed by the DC to correct the record and make entries in the Forest record and also evict the illegal encroachers. He further observed that there is no provision of any appeal against this order for the exempted land.
